The response

Here is the actual response from Maddison's teacher tonight. Its 530pm on Friday evening and the principal never called. Imagine that. Like I said, I never get anywhere with these people.

Good afternoon,

I just spoke with Mr. B (the principal)and both he and I will be outside for recess to help figure this out. I certainly do not want this continue. If an incident happens, it is important that Maddison immediately go to the teacher on duty and do her best to watch the student as she goes as well as find a characteristic about the student that can help us pin point who it is. I have also checked again with the 3rd grade teachers and they didn’t have anyone out of their rooms during recess time today.
I wish you a great week,
Ms. S

Apparently today Maddison was taken to all the 3rd grade classrooms to try and "identify" the girl that is bullying her. Is it just me or does it sound like the teacher is implying that Maddison must be making this up because she wasn't able to identify the girl today? I'm telling you, I'm really done with this school.

I'm not feeling the love for this teacher...

I feel so bad for your sweet, sweet, sweet Maddison. No child deserves to be bullied -- ESPECIALLY your sweet little girl.

Homeschool...

How about having the other witnesses look for this child? Wow, I must be a detective. If all the kids in her class are aware that she's being bullied, surely ONE of them can ID the kid who is picking on her? Poor little Maddi.

As a teacher, it may seem weird that I would say "homeschool" but seriously, some kids are just not made to fit the public school mold....and I'm thinking more and more that Maddi is one of them. Of course, rotten teachers don't help anything at all....

First of all, I would be livid over the fact that they dragged my child into every classroom for her to "identify" the bully. This sets Madison up as a target for being a "snitch." Secondly, why don't they question the other children who witnessed these events. Surely one of them knows the name of the offender. Don't think the teachers don't know they are putting Madison in a bad situation by having her do this... they know how other children will react to this, and they are counting on Madison being too itimidated by identifying the bully. Did they have your permission to drag Madison in front of every class for this "line-up"? Set them straight that they are not allowed to do anything without getting your permission first. Administration at this school seems amazingly insensitive. As far as washing sand out of a kids hair,it is no easy task, and not one that I would relish doing each and every single night. You tell them it is their responsibility to send your daughter home the way you sent her to school, hair free of sand, and tell them to have the playground monitor shadow Madison until she goes inside or walk away and spy from the sidelines so they can identify this child. If Madison should happen to feel like retaliating by throwing sand back (have her aim for the face). The child will have to stop to get the sand out of her eyes, making her easier to identify. Also, once sand is thrown in her face, she most likely will stop. That child feels she has free reign to act any way she pleases at school so Madison needs to defend herself. It is obvious the teachers and lunch monitors are not bothering to protect her.
